In Nuevo León, a strong fire has joined other incidents already reported in various points of the metropolitan area. This situation is worsening air quality, leading to the activation of an environmental contingency. The road to García is closed from the free road Monterrey-Saltillo to the area of Libramiento and Luis Donaldo Colosio.

The fire, which began to spread from a stockyard, has been difficult to contain, according to the state fire corporation. Although it was reported around 1:30 PM, the situation intensified throughout the afternoon. Approximately at 6:00 PM, Santa Catarina Civil Protection reported that the fire was controlled between 50 and 60 percent, despite difficulties caused by strong winds.

Israel Contreras, director of municipal Civil Protection, noted: "The stockyard, the company ADS, the yards of that company, and a lumber yard next to the Viñedos neighborhood are on fire." Fortunately, it was not necessary to evacuate residents from nearby housing developments, but they were advised to keep their properties closed due to the direction of smoke caused by the wind.

So far, there have been no reported injuries as a result of the fire in Nuevo León. The arrival of cold front number 31 has generated concern among authorities and rescuers, as the intense heat and strong winds have led to a large number of fires in the region.

One of the most serious fires occurred near the road to García, in the municipality of Santa Catarina. Despite the prompt response of rescue teams, strong winds have hindered efforts to contain the flames.

Authorities have deployed units from Nuevo León Firefighters and state Civil Protection, as well as trucks from various companies and Water and Drainage to address the fire. At least four companies have reported damage due to the invasion of flames in their facilities.

As a precautionary measure, the evacuation of 80 employees has been carried out, although this number is expected to increase. Nuevo León Civil Protection is present in the area addressing the situation.
